05 Aug 2006, We have our Engagement Party. Very successful with a nice buns of people and later on the evening even a real DJ who did rock to roof of our house till the next morning. As usual we had way to much food so the next view weeks we can eat from the fridge. The booze and beer with the help of Martin ;-) was all cleared. We even needed to buy some more beer the next morning!

08 Feb 2006, Got a new Job at Codemasters as Network and Security Manager. Working in the MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) Team to design and secure their networks.

03 Dec 2005, Move completed, Broadband reconnected to my new location, DNS servers changed so bit4net is running again from my own servers!

25 Sep 2005, Moving house to a new location in Birmingham, leaving Bristol. Moved my whole network and house hold to the Birmingham area. Web and Mail Servers are temporaly running from a server in the Netherlands for minimal down time.

17 Sep 2006, Sorry for being a bit late and lazy with news on my web site lately. New job is taking it's time. Also after moving house again I managed to get my own Web Server up and running this weekend. In the meantime it was hosted again on a (Windos box) server in The Netherlands.

28 Aug 2005, Some updates on this Web Site. For a long time I wanted to update my Web Site and now I found the time for it... :-( Some pages are updated, new News Archive and StatCounters installed.

27 Aug 2005 19.35, Web / Mail Server and Firewall down! A keyboard felt on the power switch of one of the UPS systems. While I was working on the local file Server a keyboard felt down and hit one of the UPS systems as result both the Web / Mail Server and the Firewall went down. After a quick power restore everything was up and running again in minutes. Had to clear some logs of the Firewall though.

18 Aug 2005, Local Fire Server down. Just before I wanted to travel for the weekend I checked my Servers and discovert that my Local File Server didn't respond. After checking the console it had an I/O error all over the screen. This Server had 3 SCSI hard disks. One of the hard disk with mounting point /var and swap on it was replaced not so long ago. So I had to get it up and running again before I could go. One of the SCSI cables wasn't secure and caused this problem.

16 Aug 2005, Hard Disk Local File Server dying. After weeks of funny noises I had to change one of the Hard Disks of my Local File Server, an Compaq Prosignia 300 with 3 SCSI disks. The disk with mouting point /var and the swap system was not running fine any more after years of service. Also after the move to my new Server Room this Server had startup problems with this disk. Lucky me I have some spare disks laying around to replace this disk.

11 Aug 2005 23.00, Whole bit4net down for maintenance. Due the need of relocation of my Sever Room the complete bit4net site will be down for some hours. Internal moving to another Server Room forced me to shut down the whole bit4net network. This included all Servers, Network gear and the relocation of the Power, the TCP/IP and the ADSL cable systems. After some hours of hard work bit4net is back on the air again. Sorry for any inconvenience for not having the bit4net.com domain on-line.

28 Oct 2004, Driving back to Bristol, UK. After spending 8 months in Leuven, Belgium it's time to go back home. I had been working at the IT company Vision Web Belgium for this time.

10 Oct 2004, Till the end of October 2004 I'm staying at the house of Raph and Jeroen. They live in the France part of Belgium, close to Brussels.
